If you love candid and relaxed wedding photography, you’ve come to the right place. As a documentary wedding photographer, I will give you images that capture your day completely naturally and without fuss. This means no posing, no fake smiles and no getting in your way. From the moment I arrive, I will blend in to capture your day from start to finish with relaxed reportage wedding photography. Images that catch all the moments, big and small, and are full of real emotions and reactions.

Whether you are getting married in a trendy restaurant, a rustic barn or a stately home, my approach is always the same; to give you genuine images that reflect your day beautifully. You will receive images that will surprise you and the portraits you will frame for your walls. Images that embrace all the wonderful moments throughout your day in a natural and unobtrusive way.

As well as photographing weddings in Edinburgh and the Lothians, I also travel throughout Scotland and the North of England. Scroll down for details of my wedding photography prices and a FAQ section and get in touch today to find out about availability for your wedding.

• We are quite camera shy. How can you help?

As a documentary / storytelling wedding photographer, my approach is all about helping you feel comfortable around the camera. I have a relaxed shooting style and will photograph your day with natural, unscripted images (no posing to the camera), so you can really focus on enjoying your day. However, I understand that you may still feel camera shy, at least initially. So, if I notice that you are a little nervous around the camera, I will offer guidance to help you relax and feel at ease. I promise that in no time at all my camera and I will be the last things on your mind and that you will look lovely and natural in your images.

• What type of albums do you offer and how do we order them?

I offer bespoke storybook albums that can be ordered as part of a package or up to 3 years after your wedding day. All wedding albums are available in a choice of covers, colours and debossing options and will be custom designed (by me) around your favourite images. The process itself is really straight forward and starts with me asking you to create a 'favourite's list' in your online gallery with your chosen images. Once I have this, I will design your album in a modern and clean style. You will be invited to review the proofs at each stage of the design process, request changes and finally, approve the layout before the album is printed. Even viewing your album in an online format is really exciting so imagine what it's like when it's printed, bound and in your hands.

• What about the group photographs and couple portraits. Do you take those too?

Absolutely, don’t worry. Although the majority of my coverage is documentary, I will be delighted to take your family- and group photographs as well as a series of beautiful and relaxed portraits of the two of you.

• Can we meet before we make a booking?

Of course, in fact I usually meet with most couples before a booking is made. This meeting gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions that are important to you and for me to get an idea of the type of coverage you require. We’ll meet either in person or via Skype/FaceTime and if you decide to go ahead with a booking, we will meet again closer to your wedding date to finalise the timings and finer details.

• How long will you be with us on the day?

My full-day package includes coverage from your bridal preparations all the way through to at least 30 mins after your first dance. I also offer a half-day and an elopements / smaller mid-week wedding package for couples looking for a shorter coverage.

• We don’t live near Edinburgh and won’t be able to meet you before the wedding, is that OK?

Absolutely. If we can’t meet in person we can easily chat about your day via Skype, FaceTime, email or over the phone.

• How far do you travel for weddings?

I am based just outside of Edinburgh and cover weddings all over Scotland and the UK including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayrshire, the Highlands, Aberdeen, Perthshire, Fife, the Scottish Borders and the North of England.

• Do you have insurance?

Yes, I do. I am fully insured and further I can provide a copy of my certificate if required.

• Is it you that will be photographing our wedding?

Yes, I will personally shoot and edit all photographs from your wedding day as well as managing all your pre-wedding planning, meetings and album design.

• What if you get sick?

Fortunately, I have never been too ill to attend a wedding and I would have to be very ill to consider not going. However, should I be unlucky, I have a great network of photographers who can step in to cover your wedding for me.

• When will we receive our photos?

Engagement / pre-wedding photographs will be available after ca. 2 weeks. Weddings normally take 4-8 weeks depending on the time of year.

You will initially receive a link to a personal and password-protected online- gallery to view, download and share your images with your family and friends.

Shortly thereafter, you will also receive your images at print-quality on a USB-drive with full printing rights for your personal use.

• We’re interested! How do we book you?

Great! It all starts with an email, so drop me a line to check my availability and we’ll take it from there.

To secure your wedding date and book me as your wedding photographer, I ask for a £300 non-refundable deposit and signed booking contract within 7 days of making the booking.
