Wedding photography is all about brilliant, fun and happy storytelling. It’s about giving you fabulous images of your wedding day that you will love for years to come. Images that are full of real emotions and reactions and that catch you and your guests looking relaxed, happy and completely at ease with the camera.

On your wedding day, my aim is to capture your story, your day from start to finish as it really happens. From the moment I arrive, I will blend in with you and your guests to photograph your day in a relaxed documentary / reportage style. This means no posing and no directing but 100% natural and candid images of your wedding celebrations.

As a documentary wedding photographer, I have an informal and lighthearted approach to my photography. I photograph weddings not only in Edinburgh but also across Scotland and the UK. I offer a full-day, half-day and an elopements package with engagement shoots and albums also available. • We are quite camera shy. How can you help?

As a documentary / storytelling wedding photographer, my approach is all about helping you feel comfortable around the camera. I have a relaxed shooting style and will photograph your day with natural, unscripted images (no posing to the camera), so you can really focus on enjoying your day. However, I understand that you may still feel camera shy, at least initially. So, if I notice that you are a little nervous around the camera, I will offer guidance to help you relax and feel at ease. I promise that in no time at all my camera and I will be the last things on your mind and that you will look lovely and natural in your images.

• What about the group photographs and couple portraits. Do you take those too?

Absolutely, don’t worry. Although the majority of my coverage is documentary, I love to take portraits and will be delighted to take your family- and group photographs as well as a series of beautiful and relaxed portraits of the two of you.

• How long will you be with us on the day?

My full-day package includes coverage from your bridal preparations all the way through to at least 30 mins after your first dance. I also offer a half-day and an elopements / smaller mid-week wedding package for couples looking for a shorter coverage.

• How far do you travel for weddings?

I am based just outside of Edinburgh and cover weddings all over the Lothians, Scotland and the UK including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayrshire, the Highlands, Aberdeen, Perthshire, Fife, the Scottish Borders and the North of England.

• Is it yourself that will be photographing our wedding?

Yes, I will personally shoot and edit all photographs from your wedding day as well as managing all your pre-wedding planning, meetings and album design. Not only is this how I prefer to work but it also allows me to give you a really personalised and tailored service all the way through from your first enquiry. You will also get to know me well and can rest assured that I know all the details of your big day.

• When will we receive our photos?

Engagement / pre-wedding photographs will be available after ca. 2 weeks. Weddings normally take 4-8 weeks depending on the time of year.

You will initially receive a link to a personal and password-protected online- gallery to view, download and share your images with your family and friends.

Shortly thereafter, you will also receive your images at print-quality on a USB-drive with full printing rights for your personal use.

• What type of albums do you offer and how do we order them?

I offer bespoke storybook albums that can be ordered as part of a package or up to 3 years after your wedding day. All wedding albums are available in a choice of covers, colours and debossing options and will be custom designed (by me) around your favourite images.

The ordering process is easy and straight forward. It starts with me asking you to create a 'favourite's list' in your online gallery with your chosen images. With this in hand, I will design your album in a modern and clean style. You will be invited to review the proofs at each stage of the design process, request changes and finally, approve the layout before the album is printed. Even viewing your album in an online format is really exciting so imagine what it's like when your album is printed, bound and in your hands.

• Can we meet before we make a booking?

Of course, in fact I usually meet with most couples before a booking is made. This meeting gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions that are important to you and for me to get an idea of the type of coverage you require. We’ll meet either in person or via Skype/FaceTime and if you decide to go ahead with a booking, we will meet again closer to your wedding date to start finalising the timings and finer details for your wedding day.

• We don’t live near Edinburgh and won’t be able to meet you before the wedding, is that OK?

Absolutely. If we can’t meet in person we can easily chat about your day via Skype, FaceTime, email or over the phone.

• Do you have insurance?

Yes, I do. I am fully insured and further I can provide a copy of my certificate if required.

• What if you get sick?

Fortunately, I have never been too ill to attend a wedding and I would have to be very ill to consider not going. However, should I be unlucky, I have a great network of photographers who can step in to cover your wedding for me.

• We’re interested! How do we book you?

Great! It all starts with an email, so drop me a line to check my availability and we’ll take it from there.

To secure your wedding date and book me as your wedding photographer, I ask for a £300 non-refundable deposit and signed booking contract within 7 days of making the booking.

One of the most important aspects of our wedding day was finding a photographer. I've always loved light and airy photos and being a photographer myself who shoots weddings light and airy I wanted a certain "look" to the images. Malin fit perfectly. From our engagement session to the wedding, every moment she spent with us was professional and fun. If you are looking for a photographer to capture your wedding day moments look no further. We cant thank her enough for the memories we have from Culzean Castle.
