INFO / FAQs

We are quite camera shy. How can you help?

I am a documentary / storytelling wedding photographer and this means that my approach is all about helping you feel comfortable around the camera. I have a relaxed shooting style and will photograph your day with natural, unscripted images (no posing to the camera), so you can really focus on enjoying your day. However, I understand that you may still feel camera shy, at least initially. So, if I notice that you are a little nervous around the camera, I will offer guidance to help you relax and feel at ease. I promise that in no time at all my camera and I will be the last things on your mind and that you will look lovely and natural in your images.

What about the group photographs and couple portraits. Do you take those too?

Absolutely, don’t worry. Although the majority of my coverage is documentary, I will be delighted to take your family- and group photographs as well as a series of beautiful, relaxed portraits of the two of you.

How long will you be with us on the day?

My full-day package includes coverage from your bridal preparations all the way through to the the first dances. I also offer half-day and elopements packages for couple looking for shorter coverages.

Can we meet before we make a booking?

Of course, in fact I usually meet with most couples before a booking is made. This meeting gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions that are important to you and for me to get an idea of the type of coverage you require. We’ll meet either in person or via Skype/FaceTime and if you decide to go ahead with a booking, we will meet again closer to your wedding date to finalise the timings and finer details.

We don’t live near Edinburgh and won’t be able to meet you before the wedding, is that OK?

Absolutely. If we can’t meet in person we can easily chat about your day via Skype, FaceTime, email or over the phone.

How far do you travel for weddings?

I am based just outside of Edinburgh and cover weddings all over Scotland and the UK including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayrshire, the Highlands, Aberdeen, Perthshire, Fife, the Scottish Borders and the North of England.

How long after the wedding / pre-wedding shoot will we receive our photos?

Engagement / pre-wedding photographs will be available after ca. 2 weeks. Weddings normally take 4-8 weeks depending on the time of year.

What type of albums do you offer and when do we order them?

I offer bespoke storybook albums that can be ordered as part of a package or up to 3 years after your wedding day. Wedding albums are available in a choice of covers, colours and debossing options and will be custom designed (by me) around your favourite images from your big day.

Is it you that will be photographing our wedding?

Yes, I will personally take and edit all photographs from your wedding day as well as managing all our communications and meetings.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I do. I am fully insured and further I can provide a copy of my certificate if required.

What if you get sick?

Fortunately, I have never been too ill to attend a wedding and I would have to be very ill to consider not going. However, should I be unlucky, I have a great network of photographers who can step in to cover for me.

We’re interested! How do we book you?

Great! It all starts with an email, so drop me a line to check my availability and we’ll take it from there. To book me as your wedding photographer, I ask for a £300 non-refundable deposit together with a signed copy of my booking form to secure your date.
