Hello, I’m Malin. I grew up in a small town in the pretty country of Sweden. When I was 19, I set off to explore the world. However, I didn’t get very far before I met my wonderful husband and found myself calling bonny Scotland my home. We live in a cosy cottage just outside of Edinburgh and luckily for all that Swedishness in me, not far from the ‘blue shop’ as our daughter calls it.
My husband Ivan and I got married in 2009, only a mere 10 years after we met…. and much like the couples I have the pleasure of working with, our priorities were to have a fun and personal day. We got married in my parents back garden and had a cracking BBQ, one or two glasses of bubbly, Ceilidh dancing (on the lawn) and a good old boogie until the early hours with our closest family and friends.
For me, photography has always been about capturing moments, big or small. I have been a professional photographer for 14 years and it’s just the most amazing job. After completing a 4-year Advanced National Diploma in Photography in 2005 I shot my first wedding in 2006 and I haven’t looked back. These days I photograph up to 20-25 weddings / year all over Scotland.
My approach to wedding photography is documentary and storytelling. In other words, natural, unobtrusive and relaxed. I aim to capture all the wonderful, happy moments as your day unfolds and let you get on with having a fantastic day with your favourite people.
When I’m not shooting weddings I can be found with my family exploring the beautiful countryside we’re so lucky to have on our doorstep. Whether we’re on our bikes or out for a walk, I love when we’re all out and about together, taking in the fresh air and getting a bit of mud on our boots.
