Hi, I’m Malin. I grew up in a small town in the long and narrow country that invented meatballs and IKEA. You guessed it, Sweden. When I was 19, I decided it was time to travel and explore the world. I didn’t get very far before I met my husband and found myself calling bonny Scotland my home. We live in a cosy cottage just outside of Edinburgh and luckily for all that Swedishness in me, not far from the ‘blue shop’ as our daughter calls it.
My husband Ivan and I got married in 2009, only a mere 10 years after we met…. and much like the couples I have the pleasure of working with, our priorities were to have a fun and personal day. We got married in my parents back garden and had a cracking BBQ, one or two glasses of bubbly, Ceilidh dancing (on the lawn) and a good old boogie until the early hours with our closest family and friends.
My favourite thing in the world is any outdoor adventure, big or small. My days of having grown up in an outdoorsy family have really stayed with me and I’m never happier than when I’m out and about, taking in the fresh air and with mud on my boots. When I’m not shooting weddings you’ll find me out in my garden (pretending to know what I’m doing) or cuddling up on the sofa watching movies with my wee girl.
My love for capturing moments is what got me into photography. I have been a professional photographer for 14 years and it’s just the most brilliant job. The best thing about being a wedding photographer is that I get to meet people from all over the world and take beautiful photos of them having a great time.
My wedding photography style is natural and relaxed. I capture all the wonderful and happy moments, from the big to the small, from the getting ready to the party and let you get on with having a fantastic day.
Your wedding is all about love and laughter. It’s relaxed and fun and you want wedding photography that is all about that. You don’t care about silky chair covers or a glittery 7-tier cake. Your wedding is about you saying your ‘I do’s” and eating, drinking and being merry with your favourite people.
