Q. Where are you based?
A. I am a wedding photographer based in Edinburgh, but I will happily travel to anywhere in Scotland, the UK and beyond.
Q. How would you describe your wedding photography?
A. My approach is very relaxed, and I like to capture the day in an informal manner as I find this gives the most natural and beautiful wedding photographs. I usually work quietly in the background, capturing the events as they unfold, but I also occasionally provide direction to individual couples when needed, particularly for the portrait sessions. I love to work with natural light and enjoy injecting a bit of fun and personality into the photographs.
Q. Do you take the formal family photographs?
A. Yes, these photographs are very important to most couples and families. However, they are not all couples' cup of tea, and it's entirely up to you if and how you want these images taken. Some couples prefer the relaxed and informal style to be continued throughout the day.
Q. What type of wedding album do you offer?
A. I work with a Scottish printer that produces beautiful story book albums. The book is designed around your selection of images with an acrylic cover showcasing your favourite image, and you are invited to approve the final layout before the album is printed. The album varies from 30 - 40 pages depending on your chosen collection, and further pages can be added to any book.
Q. How is the photography personalised to our day?
A. A lot of excitement and emotions are invested into planning a wedding, to make it yours and to add those little personal touches. I will listen to your plans and ideas, and incorporate your aspirations into the photography to provide a coverage that is true to your wedding day.
Q. Do we receive a disc with the images?
A. Yes, all collections include a disc with your edited photographs as high resolution files ready for printing, and as low resolution files ready for sharing via email, facebook and personal blogs etc.
Q. How many images will we receive?
A. The number of images varies from wedding to wedding, based on the length of coverage and the events of the day. I shoot an unlimited number of photographs on the day and place just as much emphasis on editing as I do on shooting, and take great care in ensuring a comprehensive coverage of your day.
Q. How do we make a booking?
A. A £200 non-refundable deposit secures your date and confirms your booking.
Q. Can we meet you before making a booking?
A. Yes of course, I meet with most couples before a booking is made to talk through the wedding plans and discuss the photographic coverage. If you choose me to photograph your wedding day, we will meet again at the wedding venue (depending on distance from Edinburgh) some 2-3 months before your wedding to discuss the final arrangements. Your requirements may have slightly changed since you made the booking and this meeting also gives you the chance to show me your chosen venue for your wedding day and the particular places where you may like your photographs taken.
Q. We live quite far away but plan to marry in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Scotland or at another destination, can we have a telephone meeting?
A. Absolutely, I often hold telephone meetings with overseas clients or those living just that little bit too far away to easily arrange a meeting in person. I also use Skype, should you have this available and want to have a video call.
Q. We are getting married in the highlands, are you able to meet us at the wedding venue before the wedding?
A. Depending on the distance from Edinburgh, this may be easiest to arrange the day before the wedding (if I am staying over the previous night). Otherwise I will have a proper look around the venue on the wedding day before your photographic coverage starts.
Q. Do you have any requirements?
A. I kindly ask that a warm meal is provided during the wedding meal for all full day collections. This is the only time of the day when I will take a short break.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for more information.
