With wedding planning comes many big questions. To find out a little more about my approach and how I work, please see my Q&A below and feel free to drop me an email anytime if there is anything you’d like to ask.

What can we expect on our wedding day? What is your style?

I believe that the most beautiful wedding images are taken when you are at your most natural and relaxed. When you’re ‘in the moment’ and enjoying your day to the fullest. I rarely pose or arrange photographs but prefer to photograph your day as it happens. I like to capture the most candid, natural moments possible and work discretely and unobtrusively to photograph your wedding celebrations with beautiful reportage style images. Aside from when I step in to take your family photographs and couple portraits you mostly won’t notice me there, which I’m told is a good thing….! 🙂

How long will you be with us on the day?

Full day wedding photography includes coverage from your bridal preparations up to your first 5 dances. Half day wedding photography gives you coverage from 30 mins before your ceremony up to and including your speeches. Please see my packages & pricing page for more information.

Where do you travel to for weddings?

I’m based just outside of Edinburgh and happily cover weddings all over Scotland and the UK, including Glasgow, Stirling, Aberdeen, Perth, St Andrews, Inverness, the Scottish Borders, the Islands and the Highlands, East Lothian, Northumberland, the Lake District and more… 100 miles travel is included with all my packages, after which a small fee of 45p/mile applies.

How much time do we need for the family photographs and our wedding portraits?

I take your family photographs and wedding portraits in a relaxed and lighthearted manner where you can feel at ease and enjoy your moment in front of the camera. The family photographs always bring much fun and laughter and your wedding portraits will give you two a little quiet moment. Time-wise, I recommend allowing 20-30 mins for 10 different family/group photographs (depending on the size of each photograph) and 20-30 mins for your wedding portraits.

Do you photograph elopements?

I certainly do. Please get in touch with the date and location for your elopement and I can provide you with a bespoke quote.

How long after the wedding can we see our images?

After your wedding I will process and edit each of your wedding images individually. During peak season, you will be able to see your photographs within 4-8 weeks. However, you will receive 3-5 ‘sneaky peak’ images in the week after your wedding.

How many images will we receive?

A full day’s wedding photography coverage will give you 500+ images in a mix of colour & BW on a USB drive. Each image sized to 5000px on the longest side, in sRGB colour space and at 300 dpi for high-quality printing up to an A3 size.

Do you provide the images online too?

Yes I do. A beautiful password-protected online gallery will provide your first glimpse of your wedding photographs. You are also very welcome to share you gallery with your family and friends.

Do you offer wedding albums?

I do, I offer storybook albums that you can order anytime before or after your wedding. It is a super easy process. I will custom design your wedding album in a modern and clean style (around your favourite selection of images) and provide proofs for you to review at each design stage. When you are 100% happy, the album will be printed and in your hands ca 8 weeks later. See wedding album pricing info.

Do you offer pre-wedding shoots?

Yes. Pre-wedding shoots are great fun and relaxed, shot out on location. Where possible, we’ll try to combine the shoot with your pre-wedding meeting. Photos, coffee and wedding planning!

Do you have a second photographer?

I photograph most weddings solo and have done so for years. It allows me to work as discretely as possible and I love working this way. However, I have a great network of photographers if you would like a second photographer for any parts of your wedding day.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I do. I am fully insured.

How do we make a booking?

To book me as your wedding photographer, a £300 booking deposit along with a signed booking form will confirm your booking and secure the date for your wedding day.

Is there anything you need on the day?

I kindly ask for a warm meal during your wedding breakfast for all full day bookings. This is the only time of the day I take a short break and after which a continuous coverage resumes.

What if you are ill on our wedding day?

Fortunately, I’ve never missed a wedding. However, should I be unlucky to be too ill to cover your day I do have a network of wedding photographers to call upon if needed.

We’re interested! What do you need from us?

Say hello to tell me about your wedding. I’ll check my calendar for your wedding date and kick off our conversations! I’ll also gladly meet you or depending on your location, chat via Skype/FaceTime.
